| Description | The facility will include a three-story addition to the west side of the Harn Museum to house Asian art galleries, a mezzanine suite on the upper level for curatorial and museum activities, and art storage and conservation space for the Asian collections on the lower level. An Asian garden will be accessible from the west side of the new wing. The existing loading dock will be demolished and a new loading dock will be constructed while the museum remains and will require loading dock functions. During construction, the existing building will have to maintain a consistent cool temperature and proper humidity levels and remain secure.
This building will be designed to achieve higher-than-normal energy efficiency and attain minimum Silver LEED certification. |
