Description

The University of Florida Bookstore & Visitor Welcome Center is a multi-use facility in a prominent location on the University of Florida campus. It includes the University bookstore, a Visitor Welcome Center for new student orientations, admissions and the University Gator One Card services. There is also a major food court expansion and a 370 space structured parking facility to provide adequate parking for students, staff and visitors.

The scope of the project combines a new University Bookstore, managed by Follett Bookstore, with a Visitor and Welcome Center that includes new student orientations, admissions facilities and the University Gator One Card services. Additionally there was a major food court expansion and a 370 space structured parking facility to provide adequate parking for students, staff and visitors.

This project serves as a new “front door” to the University and must be representative of the traditions and academic quality that define the University of Florida. The design of the facility incorporates a contemporary interpretation of the traditional collegiate gothic theme prevelant throughout the campus while meeting the technological and space needs of an active and growing 21st century campus.
