The Suwannee Elementary School is located on a 37.5 acre site on US Highway 90 south of the City of Live Oak, Florida. The school is a 765 student station K-5 prototype design.
The school is a one story structure comprising approximately 102,000 square feet. Principal structural elements include a pre-engineered metal building and tilt wall concrete panels. There is an attic mezzanine over the central core that houses mechanical equipment. The school is designed and constructed as a designated emergency shelter for Suwannee County.
Program elements for the school include 38 regular classrooms, two ESE classrooms, Teacher Resource Facilities, an Art and Music Suite, Media Center, full kitchen and a Multi-purpose Dining and Auditorium space together with and Administration Suite and associated support spaces. Site work included a multi-purpose play space, parking, bus loop and chiller facility.
