| Description | The LifeSouth Community Blood Centers Project consists of two major parts. The first is an new building, called the New Administrative Building, adding on to their existing campus. This 20,000 square foot addition is a two story, CMU structure with joist and metal deck floors, fire rated wood trusses, and metal roofing. The addition will house LifeSouth’s IT Department, which supports their operations in three states, the Maintenance department including warehouse space and a 2,300 square foot conference space. The second major part of this project is the renovation of an existing structure into the new Conference Building. This was an existing high roofed worship center. PPI added a new structural steel floor system, turning this tall one floor building into a two story office building and Conference Center. The lower level of this 18,000 square foot renovation will house Accounting and Human Resources departments for LifeSouth, and the upper floor consists a large conference space which can hold 200 people. PPI also did some interior renovations in the other two existing buildings in the campus, as well as constructed a new chilled water plant and emergency power for the campus. The campus, which houses over 200 employees and processes blood samples from all of their donation sites 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, was operational during the entire project. |
