Q: Why did we form Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI)?
A: Uniting the individual operations of Charles Perry Construction (CPC) and PPI Construction Management (PPI) serves to better reflect our industry standing and also unifies the unmatched brand of quality and service we deliver to our clients. Advocating for the best interests of our clients is the basis for our success, and proudly, over 80 percent of our clients are repeat customers.
Q: Why select this name?
A: Our founder, visionary industry icon Charles R. “Chuck” Perry (1934- 2005), started Charles Perry Construction in 1968. In 1993, he started PPI Construction Management as a separate company to focus on the growing construction management delivery method. When the surviving partners decided to consolidate the two companies, there was one natural choice for the new company name – Charles Perry Partners, Inc.
Q: What is the story behind the logo?
A: Charles Perry Construction and PPI Construction Management were each founded by the late Charles R. “Chuck” Perry, an avid coin collector known for carrying a single gold coin with him at all times. In the event he was at an impasse on a matter, Perry would flip the coin – a historic gold Krugerrand featuring the Springbok antelope – as his dispute resolution tool. This fair-minded approach to business is what set Perry apart from other contractors. This practice would carry forward to the present day, and remains a part of the firm’s operating agreement. Each of Perry’s four surviving partners was directed to carry a Krugerrand, and if any of the partners were at an impasse on a matter, they too would allow the coin – and now perhaps Perry in absentia – to decide the outcome. When the partners combined Charles Perry Construction and PPI Construction Management to form Charles Perry Partners, Inc., they paid homage to Perry by featuring the Springbok as the company icon, set against a shining gold field representing the coins he collected and cherished throughout his lifetime.
Q: Will projects / contracts currently underway be changed to CPPI?
A: All active projects or contracts will be completed under the company name at time of contract signing. Any new projects or contracts signed after July 1, 2011 will be completed by CPPI.
